The Trucks Off Our Streets campaign investigated the impact of industrial truck traffic near the Schoolcraft/I-96 corridor, revealing alarming findings on excessive heavy truck volume and critically unhealthy air quality directly impacting nearby homes, schools, and community spaces.

Shocking Truck Traffic Volume

In just 17 days, over 8,000 trucks passed by residents' homes, demonstrating a massive and consistent presence of heavy vehicles on local routes.

Exposure to high levels of truck-related PM2.5 pollution is directly linked to severe health outcomes, including:

  • Respiratory Illnesses (like Asthma)

  • Heart Disease
